Happy Saturday, all!

I have a busy weekend so I’ll keep today’s newsletter quick.

Day 6: Prompt

Write a poem about getting older.

Here are some great examples:

  • To Be Honest, Not At All Like Fine Wine, Donna Vorreyer

  • The Art of Aging, Marie Gauthier

  • Menopause, C. Prudence Arceneaux

  • After Many Springs, Langston Hughes

  • As for the Heart, Erin Belieu

  • Song of Myself, 45, Walt Whitman

  • Indigo, Ellen Bass

  • The Barmecides, Jane Zwart

  • The New Domesticity, Nancy Reddy

& one of my own:

  • Adulthood begins with my fist—

& read:

  • Writing Toward a Poetics of Aging

Recommendations:

  • This is a nice wash-off face mask

  • This is the best moisturizer for dry skin

  • This got excellent reviews so I’m trying it

Baby radfems have been having a field day with the idea of forcing all "men" to have vasectomies, so a reminder that compulsory sterilization on men IS actually a thing that has happened in the US, it tends to affect vulnerable populations the most, and it's fucking horrifying.
