august 8: roundup (books, art, reading recs, tweets, etc.)
Hi & happy August! I hope you all are having a good month and taking good care of yourselves.
On my end, as of this week, I’ve been attempting to adopt a ~minimalist~ approach when it comes to my bookshelves. Like any writer, I hold onto books by the thousand but, finally, I’ve run out of space to store them. As such, I’m trying to get through everything on my to-read list and get rid of the books I know I won’t reread.
And! I’m selling those dozens of books to fundraise for The West Review’s contributor fund. (Anyone want a surprise book sent to their inbox every month? I’ve got you.)
Books I read this week:
Vicinities, Lisa Lubasch
Radiant Field, Naomi Kim Eagleson
Almost Any Shit Will Do, emji spero
Black Dog Drinking from an Outdoor Pool, Zach Ozma
Tether, Lisa Fay Coutley
Don’t Let Me Be Lonely, Claudia Rankine
Spinning the Vast Fantastic, Britton Shurley
A Slow Green Sleep, Jonathan Weinert
Mother Body, Diamond Forde
rebel/blonde, Meghann Boltz
This month, I’ve also been enjoying my other art-related endeavors. I made a little Instagram to showcase these endeavors, just to have everything in one place.
Here are some lil things I made this week:
