Clifford Garstang’s fabulous newest edition of Literary Magazine Rankings came out earlier this year—a list that, as the title suggests, ranks the journals
solely on the number of Pushcart Prizes and Pushcart Special Mentions the magazines have received over the past ten-year period. (x)
With that in mind, this list obviously favors older, more established journals (and also some presses—and some journals, even, that are now defunct, so it’s not a perfect list). Either way, the list includes some of the most renowned print & online venues in the creative writing field.
This year, I decided to print out the list and see what places have published my work. I’m hoping to look at this list again at the end of the year and be able to cross off a few more names then.
In the meantime, here’s where I stand now, in April 2022:
