i lurv having a booksie coming out bc i finally got to use the word "stet" beyond just in crossword puzzles!!!!!!!!! what a time to be alive!!!!!!!!!!
friendly reminder that just because it's about "trans kids" doesn't mean it's not about race or class or ability. it's actually super about those things.
I had on my schedule today to finish some writing on the political violence trans kids face. But I’m sitting here in tears thinking about how many times over the past several years I’ve sat here, updating writing to reflect the newest cruel installment in this nightmare.
try not spend all day scrolling online until you’re frozen in fear & inaction. see what can be done, try to do it & then check the updates at intervals. for anyone prone to heightened anxiety- nobody needs you to read every single speculative tweet about this & make yourself ill
it’s been less than 24 hours and people are already on here policing who’s allowed to be scared of nuclear war ,,,, another beautiful day in the neighborhood
I generally know when to speak and when to listen. Geopolitics isn’t my expertise but I am reading a lot about the war in Ukraine. It’s tragic and terrifying and senselessly cruel. And it matters not at all what I think.

shout out to jesse singal, jk rowling, jon kay, andrew sullivan, everyone who signed the harper's letter, dan savage, the atlantic, and everyone else who engaged in and platformed transphobia and the trans debate on getting institutionalized abuse of trans children on the books

Long story short: I just walked to Poland.
It was a hellish 20-hour journey undertaken in the middle of winter with thousands of refugees. I saw some terrible things:
also a reason for why China is eyeing Taiwan--Taiwanese must be watching Ukraine with so much worry.
Blake Allen @Blake_Allen13
people are always so surprised that Tchaikovsky was gay, idk did you really think a straight man could have composed something so extravagantly fruity as Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy?
